Google dances and moves. Has anybody else experienced (what you may feel) truer, better search results using MSN? I am happy. Salem Kashou, Marketing Manager Kangaroo Brands, Inc. ===== CONTINUING ================================= From: Mark Roberts Subject: Google Base > ... Google launches Google Base today, which > is essentially a pipeline directly into the Google > database for your deep or protected content. - Rich Dudley, LED 2049 From what I am understanding from reading about it... it IS NOT a pipeline directly into the Google Database. It IS a direct pipeline into Google Base (not to be confused with the Google search engine). The statement is made by Google that "...they may also be included in the main Google search index and other Google products like Froogle and Google Local". I think the key word is is MAY which implies that it also may not. They are two different products (three if you include Froogle). I teach internet marketing classes and I always encourage people to include their products in Froogle. Most have never heard of Froogle, therefore, they never go to Froogle to search. Likewise, If you list information in Google Base, unless someone goes to Google Base, they may never find the information. However, as I tell my students, if you can find a venue to list your products or services, then do it....especially if it is free. It usually can't hurt. I am NOT saying that you shouldn't list information in Google Base, just don't take it for granted that everything you list there is going to automatically show up in the Google search engine tomorrow (or ever). Mark Roberts Roberts Computing Systems http://www.robertscomputing.com -------- new post - new topic --------- From: Richard Graham Subject: Starting > The place to start is with keyword research tools. There > are many available. I use Keywords Analyzer and Wordtracker. > For example, here is what I found out using Wordtracker... - Steve Pronger, LED 2048 Hello, Wow, thanks to Steve Pronger for the great post in Digest 2048. I've heard of Wordtracker, Keywords Analyzer etc. before, but never really "got it" until I read Steve's post. The thing is now I've been looking round and it all does seem to be a little bit too good to be true! Can these two packages along with the time taken to learn and use them, really bring such great results? Is this what everyone else is doing? Be genki, Richard Graham http://www.genkijapan.net ==== BILLBOARD =================================== From: Michael Martinez Subject: Google droppings > What do you mean by "automated reciprocal linking?" Do you > mean a directory that requires a reciprocal link and has a > program that will go out and check to verify that link? - Renee Kennedy, LED 2049 The expression I have seen used in two sources for Matt's remark is "reciprocal link spam". What is that? Whatever Google objects to. However, they seem to be focusing on massive automated networks (usually operated by single individuals). Google apparently is having an easier time identifying bulk generated content. However, in one account of a session where Matt did some live reviews, he allegedly asked questions such as, "Why are you participating in this network?" The questions, as reported in a blog, may have been whitewashed by the blogger to preserve some anonymity. So, I don't mean anything in particular. But hearing from people who have lost rankings, who are convinced they have done nothing other than participate in some sort of reciprocal linking program, will help me gather more information.
