Hello Adam and the LED Squad,

Some time back (#889, I think) I threw in my .02 worth when the Professional Web Designer vs DIY thread was hot and heavy ("Another Shot At The Professionals"). A very nice response was posted a couple of LEDs later (I think it was nice; if it was sarcasm it was well done and funny), and I got about forty private emails, all but one of them supportive. The day that my post appeared and the following day, I had about 600 "extra" unique visitors to rrcanna.com... I was VERY impressed that so many fellow LED-ers checked me out.

What was more impressive, however, was the quality of the advice I got via email. I was a little overwhelmed with the good vibrations. It was almost astonishing that so many people took the time to take the high road with me. The general philosophy of most of the communication was that I should first be concerned with whether my site accomplishes what I intend, and that I should keep the technical considerations (secondarily important) in second place... second place still being high on anyone's list. Of course, that's also last place, when you have only two things on your list.

The reason I have taken so long in writing again and thanking everyone, is that I have been re-doing every page (it takes a while). I looked at my site with new eyes, as a result of all those LED emails. I got fired up. I slashed and burned. There have been two important results. I am gaining more new readers all the time now, although I am still a very unknown guy (I am an herbalist, social critic and humorist, and I don't sell anything directly). More importantly, I like my site now. I am satisfied with it. I am proud of it.

I have LED people to thank for that, so Thank You. Especially do I thank Mr. Peter D'Aprix of France, who gave me the most advice, the best advice, and who built a real fire under me.

As always, I look forward to your newsletter every day, although lately it has been really boring. Somebody, get radical! Get controversial! Stir things up! Make trouble! Stop being so geeky!

Cordially,
Don Harthcock
