I have only been reading the LinkExchange Digest for about two weeks and it is an invaluable source of knowledge and food for thought. My Gran always told me that good things always come in threes and since reading the Digest - 1. I met Marc Holt, a regular contributor to the Digest and a columnist here on a local Bangkok newspaper. We are already talking about doing some mutual business 2. I read about Mals eCommerce free shopping cart software and signed up a small business - within 24 hours they had made their first sale. (They have saved a fortune in set up fees from their bank, and it more than serves their purpose.) 3. I also read about free firewall software called Zone Alarm 2 which I subsequently installed and was shocked by the amount of attacks that have been blocked whilst I am connected via dialup networking. What I need now is something to tell me how to source the IP address (which Zone Alarm reports) of the attacker. For small businesses anything that helps presence and sales on the web without incurring high start up costs are invaluable. My website (everything on it is free) tries to show what small businesses can get for free or inexpensively on the net.. got a bit more to add now. I am not normally a reader of digests, newsletters and other subscriptions but I look forward to this one. By the way I do pay for some things! Brian Jenkins |
